Whistle is the proud Game Official Management Partner of Hoopla. The premier 3x3 street basketball event and 2nd largest tournament of its kind in the world is held in Salem, Oregon on August 4th and 5th and there will be upwards of 1,000 teams, 4,000 participants, 900 volunteers and thousands of spectators enjoying the action in the shadows of the Oregon State Capitol Building.
With registration opening May 11th and 150 referees needed to take to the courts, the hard working team at Hoopla felt the strain of scheduling and coordinating an increased volume of officials, while finding it difficult to connect with new referees and manage the heavy task of payments after each day of the tournament. Whistle is delighted to partner with Hoopla and deliver a new era of technology transformation as the event celebrates its 20th year of basketball, family, friendship and fun!
“Hoopla operates the 2nd largest 3x3 basketball tournament in the world. As we have grown, it has become increasingly essential that we operate as efficiently as possible. We are partnering with Whistle to help us stay on the cutting edge of technology, improve our communication and streamline our overall coordination of officials at Hoopla.”
Jason Unruh, Hoopla tournament director commented.
Whistle streamlines Hoopla’s operations, keeps organizers connected more easily with existing officials while having the ability to discover, schedule and communicate with new referees in the local Salem area, as well as those in and out-of-state officials that want to take part and advance their experience. With the ability to communicate effectively with all referees, the team at Hoopla can feedback information and understand immediately where any issues exist before and during the event.
Jason continued, “We are confident Whistle will help us improve the refereeing experience at our event and thereby grow our pool of available officials at the same time. We are thrilled to be long-term partners with Whistle.” The pain of managing payments with cash trips to the ATM and writing checks is now a thing of the past as Hoopla will revolutionize the way each referee is paid, directly into their bank through Whistle’s secure automated payment system, from anywhere and all at the touch of their fingertips.
Whistle would like to thank Hoopla for trusting them as its long-term partner, while congratulating Jason and the team on 20 years of delivering one of the biggest basketball tournaments of its kind.
